Thanks for taking a moment to learn more about GorilloBuild. We designed it to be a calm, focused place for young Minecraft fans to follow along and recreate builds, with none of the social pressure or open chat you find elsewhere. Here is what you need to know.
Giving GorilloBuild as a present? Buy 1, 3 or 12 months of VIP or Ultimate as a gift: one payment, nothing renews, and you get a code to redeem on their account.1. What is GorilloBuild
GorilloBuild is a platform where users can browse, download, and follow step-by-step guides to recreate Minecraft builds. It is a carefully limited experience: there are no comments, chat, messaging, public profiles, or any way for users to contact one another on the site. Every build guide is made by us, not by other users.
There are three things a user can choose to share publicly, and a person reviews every one of them before anybody else sees it:
- a photo of their own version of a build, on that build's page;
- a short caption with that photo, of up to 140 characters, which is the only free text an adult account can publish on the site. Links are blocked automatically, as are rude words, and we can hide a photo and ask for a different caption without deleting the photo. Accounts for under-13s cannot write captions at all;
- a village layout they have made in the Village Planner. An adult account shows the name they chose for it; a layout shared from an under-13 account is shown as "A village by a GorilloBuild member", so no text they have written is published.
Taken together, that means an under-13 account shares pictures, not words: nothing it publishes contains text the child has typed. A user can also give a photo or a layout a "like", which is simply a tap with no text. What a caption cannot do is reach a particular person: there are no comments, no replies, no messaging, and no way to contact another user. The only two-way community space is a separate, optional Discord server that is run off the platform under Discord's own rules. Discord is for people aged 13 and over, so accounts for under-13s cannot be linked to Discord.
2. Age requirements
Users aged 13 and over can create their own account. For children under 13, a parent or guardian must create and manage the account using their own details, and is responsible for all activity on that account. During sign-up we ask each user to confirm whether they are 13 or older and direct under-13s to the parent-managed sign-up; we do not collect a date of birth.
3. What your child can access
Free accounts can browse every build and map, with the full guide available on our free builds and a preview on the others. Paid subscriptions (VIP and Ultimate) unlock the full 3D guides, downloads, and extra tools across the whole library. Everything is Minecraft building content, and there is nothing on the platform that is inappropriate for children.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Subscriptions are optional. If your child uses GorilloBuild, we recommend that a parent or guardian manages any subscription using their own payment method. You can view, change, or cancel a subscription at any time from your account settings, which open Paddle's secure billing page. All payments are processed by Paddle, our payment provider and merchant of record; card details are entered directly with Paddle and are never stored by GorilloBuild.
Prefer not to set up a subscription? You can buy a gift of 1, 3 or 12 months instead: one payment that never renews. You get a code, then log in to your child's account and redeem it there.
5. Privacy and data
We collect only the minimal data needed to run an account and, if you subscribe, to process payment, such as an email address, a display name, and subscription status. We do not collect a date of birth, a home address, or card details. Analytics only run if you accept cookies, and never on a parent-managed account, and we never sell or share personal data with third parties for advertising. For full details, see our privacy policy.
6. Tips for parents
Remind your child not to share personal information online, including their real name, school, address, or contact details, even on platforms without social features. That applies to the caption on a shared photo and the name given to a shared village layout, which are public once approved. Keeping login details accessible to you means you can check account activity at any time, and anything your child has shared can be edited or deleted from their account at any point.
7. Contact us
If you have any questions or concerns about your child's account, please contact us or email contact@gorillobuild.com and we will be glad to help. You can also read our Privacy Policy for full detail on the data we collect.
